ESRA 2012

Prism recently completed supervising the mix and bluray authoring for ESRA's 2012 film festival. This morning, I went to Dolby's midtown facilities to monitor the mixes, check sync, and take care of some other tech details. Pretty amazing facility and I highly recommend any audio post people out there to try and listen to a mix there if they ever have a chance. Apparently they are turning their theater into a full dub stage (probably gonna be like $1000/hour) this year. New goal in life: mix a feature in that stage when it's done!!

Audiobook Production

Recently I completed a radioplay of an adaptation of Shakespeare's Timon of Athens. Story edited by my friend and collaborator Michael Merriam, and produced, edited and mastered by moi at Prism's studio, this radioplay was aired on the Columbia University Arts Council radio station in the summer of 2011. It's inspired me to develop Prism's presence in the audiobook industry - not just for entertainment, but for educational and professional audiences. We have extensive experience contributing to productions like these from a technical and creative perspective, but have not yet gone through the process of acquiring rights for a publication, casting, story editing and producing the full project from start to finish. Given Prism's network of VO talent and our technical capabilities, this is a perfect fit for Prism's growing initiatives. Check out our profile on Audio Creation Exchange. I am looking to connect with people in the publishing industry and am going to dovetail this initiative with our efforts in the medical communications field.

I want my MTV!!

Prism is well underway in our 3+ month project MTV rescoring and re-mastering several of their broadcast properties for international release.  Our production of international versions requires us to take source materials that are not up to current Viacom specs, and redub new masters technically compliant masters which contain cleared music that MTV will not have to relicense. We've been working with MTV since 2009 on these types of projects and they have enabled us to learn quite a bit about the technical broadcast standards for Viacom.  In addition, we've also been able to develop relationships with music publishers such as Extreme Music, Jingle Punks, and Audio Network. We are looking to develop more of a presence in this type of broadcast versioning within MTV and Viacom going forward.

New Prism Website

Prism has launched it's new site. With live twitter feed and more up to date descriptions of our products and services, we've re-branded our site to more accurately represent the full range of services that we provide. Particularly exciting is Prism Medical and our demo materials which we will hopefully be able to use in our work seeking endeavors. Looking forward to additing to it, cleaning up some details, and finishing the site up. Site design by Derril Sellers and Brandon Hess of Prism Post LLC.

Operation Music Library

I'm going into music library creation bootcamp and I'll be creating anywhere from 25-30 original short instrumental tracks that can be used as score, underscore (there's a difference), source music, etc. in a variety of genres. Thus far, it's been a mix of lounge, electro, jazz, afro-cuban and a few other styles. The library is being created to support an online ad campaign that I'm co-producing and the launch for the website is 4/1. More updates then, but I will be posting new music periodically under the music tab.
